Snow Miku 2020 Ver.

This was one was from one of my earlier private shoot where I mostly relied on the camera body and lens I had at hand to recreate any effects I wanted. With how sunny it was that day, it was hard to properly make sure certain elements (such as the face) were illuminated. And while the photos did come out well, I wanted to add a bit more flare given the nature of the cosplay. So I brightened up the face more and added a few snow effects. And due to the idea of the character being a caroler, I added in musical notes in a means to feel as part of the photo as it could be.

Seamless Skin

With a few of my cosplay friends, we decided to hit up the beach to do a swimsuit shoot. Part of it involved one of them wearing a partial bodysuit which would simulate breasts. In the original photo, it was very noticeable on what part of the body was covered with the bodysuit. So I took the photo into an image editor. Used a bit of color correcting and added skin tone for the bodysuit along with fixing the seam lines, you wouldn’t be able to tell that it was even a bodysuit at first glance.

Jeanne Alter Costume Malfunction

The nature of this cosplay was incredibly time sensitive not because of any requirement for a submission but because the model had to return back home before the last train left. The problem at hand was that the original part of the jacket worn inside had ripped because it was not designed to accommodate the size of the chest. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to take photos in this location with this cosplay because there might not be another better opportunity. So I had a brilliant idea: take his own red t-shirt, flip it inside out so it did not show a design, and used color correction to change it to a black/darker color. The end result came out with a decent substitution without compromising the style of the cosplay.
